Territory Sales Representative, Brooklyn QueensBrooklyn, New York2010-07-27
Brief Summary: Responsibilities include working with the Regional Sales Manager to establish the annual sales plan relative to the Regional Manager’s territory. The Regional Sales Specialist assists the Regional Manager to ensure that the annual sales plan is effectively executed. This should be accomplished by working closely with all distributors within the designated area to ensure they are communicated with and motivated to achieve the mutually beneficial goals of both organizations. Additional responsibilities include relevant sales related activities at surgical meetings & Conferences, development of relationships with key surgeons in area territory, managing respective sales budget, providing two-way communications with others in the MAS department, and assisting the Regional Manager to ensure that quarterly & annual reporting is completed. Specific duties include the following: Assist Regional Manager to generate quarterly sales reports which meet the requirements established by the Director of Global Sales in a timely manner. Participate in sales meetings to review current sales trends & performance, to review strategy, and to develop any necessary corrective action plans on a quarterly basis. Acquire a strong working knowledge of regional geography, key institutions, leading surgeons, and top distribution groups in territory of sales responsibility. Assist the Regional Sales Manager to Co-develop and implement a comprehensive long and short-range sales strategy to support specific products. Co-develop and implement a comprehensive long and short-range sales strategy to support specific products and market segments within designated territory. Assist the Regional Sales Manager to formally present a new sales strategy or changes to an existing sales strategy to the Director of Global Sales for approval before implementation. Utilize hospital sales data forwarded from distributors to monitor the performance of the products in designated sales territory with a specific emphasis on Key Accounts (top centers, high volume centers, key opinion leaders centers, Golden Accounts, and/or clinical study centers). Assist with the management and communication of product returns, backorders, delivery dates to the Customer Service Department. Other duties, as assigned. Requirements: Successful candidate will have a 4 year college degree from an accredited college or has experience equivalent. A minimum of three years medical device sales and/or sales management or related experience. The ability to work well and cooperatively with others in a team environment and possess a goal oriented attitude. The ability to set goals and achieve them as they relate to the company, Good (clear & concise) verbal and written communications skills are essential. Must have strong communication skills and a good analytical decision and problem solving skills accompanied by the ability to exercise good judgement. A positive demeanor and the ability to work independently and handle and prioritize a number of assignments and projects simultaneously utilizing strong organizational skills. Ability to accept and manage change in a professional manner. Possess a strong sense of urgency while working with others to effectively and professionally complete projects in a timely manner. Must be able and willing to travel (domestic and international) overnight away from home when required. (Estimated 40-50%).
